The blinds are able to be controlled fully though through HA with the IKEA integration. This is one puzzle I want to solve one day.
There hasn't been any activity on this issue recently.
If you have figured away to get the buttons to work with the repeaters and not have dead batteries after a few days then you have succeeded where dozens have failed.
When I paired the remotes, I actually paired them in ZHA via the repeater devices. Now TRADFRI is part of core integration of HA, so I dont have TRADFRI folder in CUSTOM_COMPONENTS folder.
Hey there @ggravlingen, mind taking a look at this issue as its been labeled with a integration (tradfri) you are listed as a codeowner for? ### REQUESTED INFORMATION Ikea Symfonisk remote!
I dont know if the buttons stay connected to the repeaters all the time. Right now I have 3 shades running in Hubitat and I have them close at sunset and open to 44% at sunrise.
Is the ZbBridge requesting this device very often?

It still doesn't make sense even if it is showing via the remote, it was displayed on the blind before 0.101. Removed the magnet and voila. For me, the tradeoff was entirely worth it.

Or did you write several edits yourself in these files. tradfri.zip, Where I have to move these files? So it does appear the battery status is present in HA.
So I guess you could say that this is indeed not a very big Zigbee mesh. ### TO REPRODUCE
So I removed the magnet (sits clamped in and some adhesive on the back but removes easily with a flat screwdriver) on two buttons on opposite side of my house. Normally this takes about 48hrs after the mesh changes.

We have to stop thinking as a fancy gadgets beta testers, and start acting as paying customers.
Your problem might already be solved. All the other IKEA tradfri devices I have (bulbs, drivers, motion sensor, outlets, repeaters) are working fine with ST. And yet, the biggest issue I see is the lack of official public information from IKEA and Smartthings (at least I couldnt find any).
Reading through this thread it seems to give mixed results just pairing directly with ZHA. ``` ### ADDITIONAL CONTEXT You also really dont have to remove the magnet but just, for testing purposes, dont put the back lid on while testing.
One known issue seems to be that if the IKEA hub goes down for any reason, power, network, ect, the HA integration must be restarted to establish a connection.
Ive been running 6 FYRTURs for a month now with basically no issues (Installed July 1 2021). could be very useful find also battery level of roller! I agree completely with what youre saying, however it also becomes a ST problems as IKEA products are supposedly meant to work natively with ST (rather than via custom/community groovy handlers), and also presumably if IKEA fix this via device firmware update were still relying on ST to deploy it to hubs. Every remote (2-button) that has the battery off still works.
And its still consistent. GitHub. If someone else can try and verify we can be sure. Has anybody had the time to try it?
My shades have only gone through ~13% battery in a month, and Ive never noticed a false or missed open/close event.
For what its worth, after using the blinds with ZHA for about 8 months and having reliability issues with all of the blinds in each room (3 in one room, 4 in another) opening 100% of the time, I ended up just buying the Tradfri hub and using the official Ikea integration. To retain the original functionality and still control the blinds via HA, do the following, in zigbee2mqtt: This applies to any ZigBee platform that supports Binding and I believe the concepts for source, destination and what is considered a coordinator are pretty much the same across the board.
- [x] Tasmota binary firmware version number used: 9.2.0.1
Disclaimer: I am running a Sonoff ZigBee stick with the original firmware, which doesnt support all the features the TRADFRI devices can support, such as the motion sensors presence reporting.
These instructions worked great for me. By clicking Sign up for GitHub, you agree to our terms of service and - If your issue has been addressed before (i.e., duplicated issue), please ask in the original issue @Ramblurr : Yes, Im running about 20 other ZHA devices.
It may just be a firmware upgrade for the blind but that requires taking them out of HA and connect them to an IKEA unit. The biggest downfall I have with using the hub is another device and if the hub goes offline for some reason the integration needs to be restarted. You add the IKEA TRADFRI with integration: No need for anything in configuration.yaml.
This issue has now been marked as stale and will be closed if no further activity occurs. When connected directly through ZHA commands seem to take longer to reach the device and stopping the blinds midway results in the inability to keep moving in the same direction.
So far they have been working well. Any clue why?
The way I have them installed I want to avoid them going past 96% open. In my setup, I now threw the gateway out and connected all Tradfri devices to zigbee2mqtt using a 10$ USB stick. Are you running other devices through your ZHA network? I do not want to argue about this, but following your thinking in the previous occasion it was Fibaros fault, and all the others who has implemented the device firmwares. But for the little guys, Im still working on a node-red sequence.
fyrtur They have been doing that for over 6 weeks now with my batteries showing 87% in HA. The battery percentage of my Philips Hue dimmer switch is running down quite rapidly since I paired it with the (Tasmota) ZbBridge. Thanks!
Im even using 2 of the IKEA repeaters outside of the Tradfri ecosystem to act as generic ZHA repeaters. Battery level of Tradfri Blinds is missing. Hmm, I have the same experience as @dmx21. I've got one room with 2x remotes connected to the same blind, with different battery status. I gave up on these controllers. Here are my findings: Pros: Everything works and is 100% reliable. ### PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

Before trying to OTA, quick-press both buttons, the light will come on and stay on, no breathing effect or pulsing. I added a few buttons for fixed positions - they do control all three blinds.
So we dont have to use the CC, but are in core support on this? Thanks! - [ ] Provide the output of command: `Backlog Template; Module; GPIO 255`: Just something to watch out for. @ctfeet : I just tested this using the Ikea app and HA and it works as expected with the Tradfri integration.
The battery percentage of my Philips Hue dimmer switch is running down quite rapidly since I paired it with the (Tasmota) ZbBridge. **(Please, remember to close the issue when the problem has been addressed)**. Can I do something to prevent lots of communication? Also upgraded to 0.109.6 and battery status still does not appear on the blind devices themselves. What could be the cause of this? Though consistently they at some point lost the connection. I have manged to keep two ikea buttons alive on a HUBZB stick and ZHA for about 3 months but only if I removed all of the IKEA repeaters from my house. Console output here:

That makes them useless in HA since they can ONLY control the blinds, I have all blinds as ikea and thats my only complaint about them, no battery status of the actual blind.
--> So this might just be luck or something else at play but maybe someone else can try.

Does anyone have binding working with the latest remote firmware (0x23079631 / V-2.3.079)? Some of this bind stuff might work better with more powerful sticks.

Have you noticed any problems having multiple zigbee networks in the same location?
### TO REPRODUCE Thank you!_ Thank you!_
A workaround would be to add a custom component for the blind.
They will never expose button events via any of the platforms, I dont think Deconz does this either (but might be doable via sniffing or such and still not out of the box). I tried to put the files in the zip posted by @microadam into the config/custom_components folder, but I can't see any change could somebody help me getting the custom component work while the official integration is being refactored? tradfri.zip, Ahh awesome! Took out from the drawer the ikea hub, and paired one IKEA dimmer switch and outlet. Closure level is controlled by quick-double-press on any of the buttons when at the desired level.
So far I have bound the shades to their remote (certainly not the one they were originally paired with, I had reset them many many times and never had them marked so this doesnt matter), Philips Hue Dimmer Remotes to IKEA bulbs (this combo allows for more brightness levels and a lower minimum than via the next remote, NO CT adjustment), the IKEA round dimmer remote to 2 TRADFRI bulbs (for this one, adjusting CT worked only on one of the bulbs, the second one never changed, while level adjustment worked on both), IKEA Symfonisk Sound Controller to 2 TRADFRI LED drivers + 1 TRADFRI bulb, and so far this last one has been the least responsive and reliable. _Add any other context about the problem here._ Not sure about that My Fyrtur Blinds continue to work with ST But the battery life on these are impacted too.
You could be right, however something magically made one of my remotes go from 35% to 100%, and another go from 60% to 100% (two different blinds) around the same time I charged both blind batteries. I think what ur7x is saying is that you wont be able to use the remote to run any automations in HA but I could be wrong. this looks promising, please can you indicate where this was from? Wondering if I will have the same trouble with the Fyrtur if I were to buy them.
The magnet is a neodyne and they are quite strong. Just wondering is anyone monitoring IKEA or is there some other website that reports what the current firmware is for the buttons and the blinds?
Most blind remote buttons are close enough to the DECONZ stick.
That way Its still intact and can be returned for those that want to do that.
