I'm going to splurge on another, bigger, more capable kayak so I can fish the waters I like to fish and do it in comfort, but on the right day, this is still a great little boat. some places may have rentals that you could try out as well, to see what works for you, if you have never done it before.

I started with a Future beach 104 and now I am currently rigging my Shearwater 125 with an Xi3 GPS trolling motor, so you could say I dove right in.
They love them. Got two of them at Walmart. I bought a motorized inflatable in the meantime, BUT I just got a small trailer and rigged it up to carry all my vessels. I got a 13' fiberglass hand me down boat, but I didn't have a trailer and my home harbor has no boat ramp (???). Better off with a used kayak.

I didn't have a roof rack for it and it fell off twice driving at high speeds, definitely scraped but she still floats! Walmart does carry Pelican and some other brand names, but overall, they are geared toward the beginner just wanting to go on the water a few times a year. I'm in a much better position now with two kayaks that cost less than $500 total that I used a good amount of times than my buddy is that bought a hobie outback for $3.5k and used it less than 5 times maybe. If you're interested in the sport, you can figure out if you want to continue and upgrade from there. My back and neck are fused solid, so I am not able to keep my balance in them.
The stock seat was garbage so he took my old seat from my ocean kayak trident but otherwise not bad for the price. kayaks Price is only for Olive Green color.
