The 16 took care of some of the length sizing issues but did not address the width. Yes, I would agree that the stability and the overall function of the Adrenaline GTS 15 is more like the 13 with many positive updates. Copyright 1995-2022 eBay Inc. All Rights Reserved.
I am sorry to hear you have had issues with the Adrenalines after wearing many versions. Thank you for providing feedback on both the GTS 15 and the Ghost 7.
* The GTS 15 runs 1/2 smaller, keep that in mind when trying on *. I am glad the toe box and size of shoe worked out for you and that your running is going well.! They are a bit big and Im halfway into my shift and my feet are in so much pain. I hope you are able to exchange for a new pair or a pair that you know works for you. Hi Travis Thank you for your sound and professional advice ! However Ive never been completely happy with them. Thanks for the comments. They still offer plenty of control, stability and cushioning which may help with knee pain (not knowing what exactly is causing it).
I am an active person who has waited a long time for this trip. is adrenaline gts 14 good for me ? Also, note the GTS 15 also runs 1/2 smile. I think Ill give the Kayanos another shot. I hope the store was able to exchange for a new pair of 15s or get you into another pair of running shoes that fit better. Very frustrating. And thats on top of its durable and protective nature. I have almost flat feet and bunions but not painful or requiring surgery. The GTS 16 will be tested and review posted shortly so look back to see if anything in the sole has changed and what other, if any, Brooks changes to the new GTS releasing soon. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry to hear you had some issues with the fit of the shoe and then had issues with the Adrenaline 12s during the race. you should speak again with the store you purchased from to see if you can resolve. So I think it is similar in fit and feel. Take a look at these two reviews, but to answer your question the Kayano 21 would be a good shoe to rotate as it offers similar stability, good cushioning and when compared to Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15, thee it will feel similar throughout foot strike. You should try on sizes 14 XW and 15 XW (they dont make 14.5 XW that I can see).
So if you like more cushioning, the Kayanos may have a touch more cushioning but I would try both on as they would both be good in your rotation. Not a problem till about 18 miles, then life gets harder and the feet feel heavy. After that running about 100km a week the soles were flat. From your review Im inclined to maybe give the GT-1000 a shot over the 2000. I am just starting to test so a review will be posted as soon as done. The drop is something that is unique to each runner. My go-to-shoe has been the Saucony Guide, but its no longer made in XW. I originally bought so 10, as that was the sz I wore in the GTS14s. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 is designed for those who have moderate to severe overpronation it offers maximum support if needed. I returned my wifes shoes to the Athletics Foot store in Greensborough yesterday. I need a favor from You I would need the email address to Brooks or whom to write to @ Brooks manufacturer concerning the quality issue that I am having I just do not feel justify for me to paid so much money this shoe that I dun get what I paid for and the type of service i received from Key power intl . Even putting one shoe and balancing on my toes I feel some discomfort, but when I put my 13s back on its definitely less noticeable. Thanks for your comments on the GTS 16. My never-ending quest for the right pair of running shoes has seen me try numerous brands offerings; both stability and cushioned lines. There is so much out there to pick from these days! I have run in the Adrenaline through the 13, have always liked them.Im looking forward to trying the 15. I was thinking that, if one must go up a half size, isnt this equal to a weight gain in the shoe? adrenaline Hi Travis Are there any other brands you recommended for people who liked the Adrenaline 14 but not the 15? Thanks for the comments and glad you like the GTS 15s that you got. The go-to stability running shoe for those who want to tackle daily running sessions, exercises, and other athletic activities. Previously bought only NB. I have dabbled in a few other brands but the Sequence and Adrenalines are about the best Ive come across so far. Best bet is to just try on both and I think you will get a sense right away. Thanks for the comments. Sizing on the 15 was about a half a size off in length and the shoe runs narrow. Thank you again for your comments and let us know if you have questions on other shoes as well. Can you do yourself harm by wearing shoes designed for overpronation when you dont? If you dont mind one more quick question Ive tried most of the shoes in this category that come in an XW (except for the NB 860) and the Adrenaline is it. Cheers, Travis. The Brooks Adrenaline does have a medium to high arch support system in place so would be a shoe that would give your flat feet some support. They the ( key power ) promised to get back to me and put a small little faith in Brooks and them . I dont know if this is normal for the breaking in process. I run on paved roads, around 15 miles per week, and training for a half marathon in 4 weeks time.
Worn Brooks Adrenaline GTS for years! Anyone else have this issue? Two other shoes I would recommend and have you try on are the ASICS GEL-Kayano 22 and the new Nike Odyssey both shoes offer stability for moderate to severe overpronation and good cushioning like the GTS series. Thanks for leaving your feedback and experience. I have a pretty neutral running pattern. The 16 lasted me for 4 years clocked in about 2000km I do not boast nonsense about it ! A contoured insole adds a bit more cushioning and support to the curves of the underfoot. Thanks again. It offers the same midsole ride and comfort around your foot via the upper. I work 12 hour shifts and these came highly recommended by a lot of hospital workers. I normally wear a ghost and loved them as I have always got really bad shin splints and my right ankle and knee experience pain during running and the ghost helped I apparently roll out when running more so in that leg and this shoe was recommended I have worn them to gym and to run on the foot path and I dont know Im thinking I should take them back I had immediate shin splints and my ankle and knee flared up almost immediately.. Should I persist Ive been told I have 30 days to take them back am tempted to wear my old ghosts which definitely needed upgrading . Ditto on Tuesday. http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2014/08/brooks-ghost-7-review/. Bought back it to the ( Key power ) in mid May 2016 and have their expertise to assess the shoe . I did not personally review the GTS 16, I ran in the GTS 15 but our team did review the GTS 16. So I decided to replace the GTS 16 In Feb 2016 after clock both at high mileage . If I had to pick, I would go with Brooks Adrenaline GTS15 due to the updates they made this year to upper, sole, etc. It can handle someone who is 62 and 200 lbs that would not be an issue. Just remember the Adrenaline GTS 15 is a support shoe as well that offers good cushioning and a very smooth quick transition. Im hoping I can still exchange them for something else. Both the shoes offer ample stability and enough cushioning underfoot. Using the runners for 16 weeks (70km weekly), the soles at the front half are just plain flat! Im still a GTS 13 runner (bougth 3 pairs of those) . Hi!
The Adrenaline GTS 15s are a solid shoe for those that overpronate like you and they can handle high mileage. However, for others, this difference may create a snug fit so going up in size should be considered. Somehow this material doest quite do it for me in terms of responsiveness. It is designed for a varied of terrain from roads to some lighter trails (similar to what you are looking for). If you got 1,120 kms out of the shoes, that is a lot. In the past Ive worn Brooks Vapor 9, 10, 11 and was happy with them. I know with this version Brooks incorporated their BioMoGo DNA blended midsole and I wonder if your flat feet dont like that change to the midsole. Let me know if you have questions after reading or if you want some more options as glad to assist. The LunarGlide series is designed for mild overpronators and even neutral runners could get away with wearing it but they are both designed mainly for use on roads (or very light, smooth trails). Both nice in dry tarmac, but a little tricky in the woods (mostly in the wet days). The sole unit of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 is where you will find a majority of the updates found in this version. I agree with others here that Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 has better support than the 14th iteration, hence is more akin to the GTS 13 in support but with better heel to toes transition. more profit for them, less comfort for me. brooks mens adrenaline gts 4e runnersworld I loved this shoe through the 14 this was the best shoe out there! The Kayano will feel like it has more cushioning under foot (not too much just notice more) and it is slightly higher in price. Brooks is making updates to most of their shoes almost every year, seems like all shoe companies are, so will be interesting to see if Brooks changes the sole more in the next version and if any more upper changes come along.
Jens Jakob is a fan of short distances with a 5K PR at 15:58 minutes. Also, the Brooks Ravenna 6 has a little more stability then the Ghost 7 but has good cushioning as well. This new midsole material works well with the Adrenaline GTS 15 which is the latest shoe to benefit from this new technology that has debuted in many Brooks shoes in the last year. I have put lots of miles on them (the NB 1260v4 are retired as I put lots and lots of miles on them and they held up well) and they Brooks are still in my shoe rotation. All the updates were designed to provide for a more comfortable and stable ride throughout a runners stride and allow for a smooth transition.
I have also tested other Brooks so which helped me compare the GTS 15s. Thanks for the comments and feedback on your experience. (also, why do Brooks make running shoes in such garish colours)!! I would recommend that you pick a truly neutral shoe that fits your gait if that is what you need. For comfort and funtion: 5 stars For durability: 1 star. I liked to shared my horrible experience with Brooks product and the local Brooks dealer ( key power ) in Singapore . The Adrenaline did update their sole this go around where the Ravenna did it in the previous versioon so its dialed in more in my opinion. I tried the New Balance 870 which was perfect in many ways, but I like more cushion. I moved to a Ghost 6 and both toe boxes went out small toe sides. Im a guy about 59 170 and I have super high arches and narrow feet. I just started running a couple of years ago. Was that helpful? Can you recommend one over another? The same as very cheap running shoes. You can definitely feel the support when you put the shoe on. With that would you say that an Asics GT-1000/2000 or New Balance 860 would be a great complement to rotate with (or flip a coin)? Sounds like rotating the Adrenaline and one of the Asics would be a great thing to start with. They felt great for the first few hours of break in. I know there is the zero drop that are working for some. It will be interesting to see if Brooks makes many changes or leaves the shoe alone. I even bought the half size larger which Ive never had to do in Brooks before. I think the NB 860v5 and the Asics GT 1000 2s or the Asics GT 2000 2s would be good compliments to add to your rotation as they are similar. Thats just asking for toe problems! For me the shoes are very similar but if I was to choose, I would say that the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 as a bit smoother transition due to the updates in the sole unit this year. 78% say it's true to size. Thanks for the comments. The midsole has been updated to a new BioMoGo DNA material which delivers just enough additional cushioning underfoot for a soft, comfortable ride. I havent heard of many having issues with the toe box or giving out but let me know if you experience the same with the 14s. If you like Brooks and want some cushioning and not too much stability, you may like the Brooks Ghost 7 which has good cushioning. My last two shoes were Asics GT1000 and Nike Lunarglide 6. The new spring version of the Adrenaline GTS 16 will be tested soon so look for a review here to see what has changed and the response as they will be released soon. It can be replaced with a new one. There are some companies who have unisex shoes for that reason. Let me know via email when a comment is added to the conversation. So I think just the shoe in this case. The GTS 15 did change and was a 1/2 smaller and the GTS 16 from what I know corrected the sizing issue. Do you think its a good idea to try these in size 15? Everyone is different and some can get away with wearing shoes which help with mild to moderate overpronation. I have a Brooks Ghost and after 150km the front middle section of the sole already has lost about 2mm thickness. Thanks. What a disappointment these are the ride is definitely worse for me, and I suspect it was the miserly, cost-cutting removal of the DNA gel. I started with the Asics GT-2170 then to Saucony Guide 7 and now Ravenna 4. Wore them for 5 hours of walking on Monday. A huge long awaited trip and I am sitting in a hotel room while my husband goes to scrounge up some more ice. Im a MUCH different runner now than I was 6 years ago and the Kayanos probably different too. Thanks. In my opinion, the ASICS Kayano 21 would be a good shoe as very comparable stability wise (good stability for pronation). The only other thing to keep in mind is the Kayano runs $160 vs the 860 v5 at $115. If you have other questions regarding these two or want other options, let me know. Medium arch on both. Thanks for the review. The bad: The toe box is definitely tight and my poor big toe is a bit sore after the run. Stability wise, the Adrenalines are untouchable. The medium is now too narrow (particularly in the ball of the foot) and the wide is too wide. The breathable and lightweight synthetic mesh overlay along with the uncomplicated saddle design gives the runner a customized individual running experience. Thanks for the question. Bought my GTS 15s a week ago and I hate them. What other questions do you have? Ill give the 15 a try, but I have my doubts. Since you leave in Africa and cant easily return what other questions do you have? I started off with Asics gel Kayano 19 and they were fine. Now not only am I worried about the size but theres also the sole too that Ive been reading about. adrenaline Based on 35 million race results, he's among the fastest 0.2% runners. I also hope the article helps with you treating it. You might go to store and try both on during same visit and see if you can feel the difference.
It seems as though Brooks is adding their new BioMogo DNA into all shoes starting in the last several years. Just never want to get a shoe too small so toes are bunched. Every month we give away a pair of running shoes to a lucky reader! Jens Jakob previously owned a running store, when he was also a competitive runner. It wraps around the foot snugly, but it doesnt make the cover system feel stiff or restrictive. After one month in these shoes, they feel completely dead. But the GTS 15 is a quality shoe and a step up from the Ravenna 6 in control and stability. Here is the review for that: http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2013/06/new-balance-870v3-review/. I hate to get rid of the Adrenaline but it just does not work for me anymore. This calm me a bit . The fixes or treatments can vary depending on what is actually causing it. Thanks for the question. Whereas the Ghost 7 is in the Neutral category offering good cushioning for neutral runners who dont need a lot of support. The Adrenaline GTS 15 are more of stability shoe with decent cushioning. I had the same negative experience with the GTS 15. However, I did go to the store to see what a 10.5 felt like and it felt the same from heel to toe I just had a little extra room in the toe box. The cushioning is good, little for firm that some but still good. I have an XW flat foot that pronates just a little and Im a 62 200 lb. Bought back to the hopeless and irresponsible retailer ( Key power intl ) pertaining the quality issue they cant provide me even a simple answer and solution . THANKS. Ive neutral to mild overpronation in my left foot and mild to moderate in my right foot.
The support was much poorer than previous models. I think that would be a good idea, always good to rotate shoes. Got to say, they are a great looking shoe! My PT said I had flat feet and overpronated. So given this, I would try the 1/2 up and see if company or store cant return the shoe. Thank you for your comments. Though I used to do pretty well with Asics old GT2170s. The Adrenaline GTS 15 uppers simple design contains many ideal features runners are looking for. Within two weeks of breaking in my new pair of GTS 15, I developed severe heel pain in one foot that has not resolved (this was 9 months ago). When will Brooks get with the times? adrenaline I must say that this might be my perfect shoe (wide heavy flat midfoot striking feet). So if you want more stability the GTS 15 if you, but both may work in your case as you just need some control and stability it sounds. They hurt my knees so Ive since moved on. But see your local running store so they can just look at your gait. My feet feel bruised from the stiff footbed and my toes ache. The Adrenaline GTS 15 continues to be a solid, overall shoe providing a secure, comfortable fit while delivering the stability, cushioning and control most runners seek. Thank you for your comments and questions. Also, the price since both are so similar is something for you to consider as they are so comparable, but the NB are higher priced. I am a recreational runner who runs around 15 miles per week (4-6 miles per run). I dont believe that these shoes are gender specific (some are). Thanks again for your feedback. But from the feedback and what I noticed that did change or had been updated was mainly the sole and midsole. While absolutely happy with comfort and running performance I cannot really recommend the shoe to my friends due to poor durability. I would recommend going back to a more neutral shoe (or neutral / mild overpronation shoe like Nike LunarGlide). I returned them and got Brooks Adrenaline 14. A breathable material called the Element Mesh makes the upper unit feel very comfortable. This version is updated with a new no-sew overlay mesh that allows the shoe be breathable while providing a snug fit. Thanks for the feedback and your perceptive on which shoe works for your running. I bought back the shoe to our local dealer ( key power ) Singapore in mid May 2016 to have their so called expertise to assess my shoe . So the Ravenna 6 will give you a big more cushioning then the Adrenaline GTS 15s. Thanks for your feedback.
Really weirded out by your comment have been having new to me pains in my left heel since purchasing these shoes. Feel cushion support throughout length of shoe. My feet feel like they did when I would wear out a pair of my old Asics. I would try returning the shoe, the the GTS 15s do run a 1/2 small. I have the same problem as you with the achiles. Again, lots of resources on causes/treatments for shin splints. The end result is the sole provides a balance between the stability and cushioning, while providing an adaptable and responsive heel-to-toe transition. The Adrenaline GTS (14 or 15) shoe is also in Brooks Stability category so it will help with your overpronation as well. Last sunday I completed marathon #4 in the Adrenaline 12s, and for the first time ever the top of my left foot felt like someone hit it with a hammer (fortunately ice and aleve helped me remedy it). The GTS 15 is primarily Brooks top shoe for overpronation support. The ASICS GT-2000 and Saucony Triumph ISO are good, reliable shoes so good choice and glad you are enjoying them!
