The front plays through a flatter routing, and brings in the creek a few times, offering some risk/reward holes. It measures just over 6800 yards from the back tees, bunkers guard several parts of the course peripheryadding to the challenge but also protecting from lost balls, too.

Course has elevation changes and blind shots that I wish I knew about, but I will remember for my next round there. Water water everywherethe place just doesn't drain well, period. The 18-hole "Salt Creek" course at the Salt Creek Golf Retreat facility in Nashville, Indiana features 6,407 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Shirts must be worn at all times. I won't play there again. Overall, next time we are in the area, we will definitely be making another visit to Salt Creek Golf Resort! The tee shot on 15 is getting crowded too, which is too bad, it is a nice elevated tee-ball that floats in the air for a while - but plugs upon landing. Add a tournament here. S, I enjoy the tree lined fairways and elevations. I think they should get some renovations in improve air flow and drainage then the rest of the challenges mentioned would be more easily met. We purchased the unlimited golf package, and when you play that game you know you might be sacrificing some quality to get there, so I didn't have expectations of county club chic all 3 days (not at this price anyway). Tee times will be spaced every 10 minutes. The staff was friendly. The front and back 9s are two completely different course with their own unique challenges. I paid $15 on GolfNow and wouldn't pay more than that to play this course. We had almost no wind and minimal bugs (which is rare). The cart paths definitely need a facelift but nonetheless an enjoyable round as the fairways and greens are in pretty good shape. You may cancel your tee time up to 24 hours in advance by speaking to a staff member at 847-934-6050 x4. Any player failing to follow these guidelines will be removed from the facility with no refunds given. The staff was all very nice and professional; they did a great job accommodating our group from set-up through finish (including getting us out around the weather). We only lost a few balls. There are a lot of bare spots in the fairways that pre-dated our trip and the recent rain. minolta Salt Creek Golf Club was built in 1989. The greens were in good shape, especially considering the amount of water they endured. The front nine of this course needs some work on the cart parts as they are very rough, pot holes, roots causing bumpy conditions. I'll play here again if I'm in the area (we camp down here once a year or so) and I know it's been dry for while. Course was in the best shape we have ever seen it. We caught up to a fivesome on hole 10 that was playing out of four bags that really slowed us up. Beautiful fall day to play golf in brown county! The bunkers were non-starters; not treated, no sand and we didn't even try to play from them, I told my guys to take it out (rake and re-drop wasn't helping). All rights reserved. Holes 13 and 14 are seriously challenged, they need to cut some trees down, get some airflow going. We encourage you to bring your own sanitizer. No tank tops or cut-off shorts allowed. These changes include converting four Par 3 holes into more challenging Par 4s. Ball not checking up on good approach shots. The 9th hole on our Blue Course is one of these holes. The resort has a restaurant and bar on-site that do a great job. First time playing course. The course has great bones and the fairways in ok shape. Fairly difficult. Jennifer VanNess manages the course as the General Manager. Salt creek is in the middle of brown county and the fall season will bring breathtaking views of your drives flying down the fairways. Small greens that were a bit hard.
The greens got mowed each day, pins moved. Hwy 46 Salt Creek Rd, Nashville, Indiana 47448, Brown County. First things first: I've played here before, and I've never seen the place "dry" but this is because of when I've played, so I don't fault the course for that. Now a 302 yard, par 4, it requires a well-placed tee shot due to having water in play on both sides of the fairway along with a sixty-yard long waste bunker down the left side. The course is short, kinda quirky and requires some precision off the tee. My wife and I over the Labor Day weekend took a small vacation and set a tee time the day before. As usual, Ben Vaness and his staff have the course in great shape. Tony treated us to the round after we experienced a rain out on a previous round in the summer.Salt Creek will challenge your game! The front nine greens were not very smooth, very rough and needing a lot of work.the back nine offer a very differing level, some significant elevation changes, and major obstacles.It rained twice causing delay in the first part and we did not finish the last two holes due to rain again. Hours vary by season, please call for hours. The par 3s all play pretty tough and hold their own. So we had a wet course and cart-path only the whole trip, which I understand, the weather necessitated it. Too many "hackers" that don't know how or that they should rake the traps. If you have 90 minutes to spare, Twin Lakes Golf Course is a great place to get in a quick round of golf early morning, mid-day or after work. The main problem with this course is maintenance. The course was soggy but it was a very overcast day with periods of rain. We had a hard rain Fri night, so I understand the challenges, but the drainage needs something done (tiles installed, fans, tree removal). Currently no members have specified this course. Nestled in the rolling foothills of the San Miguel Mountains; adjacent to a National Wildlife Refuge, Salt Creek is a links-style course of sorts, with big fairways and greens. Saltcreek is a gorgeous course with different challenges from the front 9 versus the back. In the fall, this course is probably very scenic. Could be a great course. Just too easy to get a ball off the tee into the busy hi-way. Payment is due at time of reservation. The fairways were tight through the tree lined fairways and the elevated shots throughout the course provided great views and a change of scenery from what we are typically used to.
There is a good balance of challenge and accessibility. There is a need for a barrier along State Road 46 and the parallel fairway for a par five. A porta john is located on hole #7. The course rating is 71.2 and it has a slope rating of 132 on Bent grass. It has fairways and greens of bent grass, water hazards and lots of bunkers. All in all Ill play it again and would suggest it to others to play. The course is pretty short from the white tees. We had a great time and enjoyed the variety of holes and water challenges. Ok - spent 3 days at the resort, so I'm going to try to be as comprehensive as possible. Requests for individual carts will be considered based on availability. The total yardage for 18 holes is 3,985 and with a Par of 63. Whats more, it follows the equally demanding 262-yard, Par 4 8th hole which features an island green. Salt Creek Golf Club has undergone a number of improvements over the last few years. The rough was lot of crabgrass and random stuff that, due to the weather, hadn't been mowed, which added to it's unpredictability (around the greens were much better though). The course was hit badly with rains this Spring and is slowly recovering. The course has some quirky holes, but I don't mind that, as it gives the course character. If you are experiencing any flu like or cold symptoms, please do not golf. Its one of the reasons why players of all skill levels find Salt Creek Golf Club a challenging, yet rewarding course. And tee boxes are very hard. Cart paths are in extremely poor condition. I've decided to group my thoughts in a tiered format. We enjoyed the fabulous new golf carts with GPS. We are openseven days a week; open play is available except during league play, private outings and tournaments. The Par 5s are all pretty gettable, so that's fun. With the amount of moisture, we played ball in-hand and that was needed to find fairway grass on a lot of holes. Some of the greens are nicked up pretty bad and I fixed at least 4 ball marks on each one.
