Its winter here in the UK and this smells fab! Unfortunately it isn't, to me it's pretty ordinary. But I was somewhat intrigued. I was just wearing chance eau vive a few days ago and noticed the exact same thing. The scent is lovely:) I love Chanel fragrances and i'm also very critical about some issues concerning them , mostly the ridiculous watered down N.5 edt of the past decade ( i don't miss one opportunity to mention this lol). If I were to assign seasons to chance perfumes: The notes on the Chanel website are different. This lasted about eight hours, but when you don't like it that is not a plus. Since I live in a hot tropic, it's very rarely that I indulge in my YSL manifesto or Lancme la vie est belle. For some reason it really reminds me of the pricey air freshener i once used for my car. Eau Vive is the perfect mediator! I can feel mostly the fresh, citrusy notes but without the slight bitterness I have encountered in other similar scents, it's a delicate, feminine fragrance, both youthful and classy. The scent is nice citrus-y fresh but it does remind me too much of bathroom cleaner. I sampled and bought it within an hour! its pleasant enough but its nothing else other than that. A burst of grapefruit..a lot of grapefruits! This is the Chanel for you. The very next day, I wore a robe that I had sprayed Eau Vive on. The opening with the combination of citrus is like pure Lemon, then the florals kick in and the musk is a beautiful one. Its a very universal perfume and you can't go wrong with it, but test first. tried a sample, wanted to love it soooo badly as I love the others in the Chance line. I think I may like this more than eau tendre. Unfortunately, it's my least favorite of the Chance's. Very fresh and very Chanel. Jasmine beautifully blends with white musk, and citrus is not obvious here, spicy or cologne, but juicy, smooth and slightly powdered. This is my second review now that I have a full bottle.
About 10-13 years ago, one spray of any Chanel EDT would last on the skin until I washed it off. For those who disappointed, I will tell you why. Later it gets a bit powdery and the grapefruit gets warm and starts smelling like sweat.
Chanel launches the new fragrance CHANCE EAU VIVE which belongs to the Chanel Chance collection and arrives on the market on June 12th 2015. This being the first scent by Olivier Polge after the retirement of his beloved father Jacques Polge, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The reason is simple and clear, because the nose of Chanel has changed. This without a doubt is my FAVOURITE Chanel fragrance, followed closely by Coco Mademoiselle.
I tested Eau Tendre (solid like, but similar to other perfumes), Eau fraiche (beautiful, but I have versense and they are in the same family) and Eau Vive. Beautiful for all ages, classic, timeless. I believe that much of the dislike for this perfume is because many people feel strongly that Chanel can do better (and I do agree). Eau tendre would be my pick out of the three, but in all honesty I wouldn't buy a full bottle of any of them. Not really, a safe citrusy floral I would say. If you like Eau Premiere, you will like Eau Vive as well. Very disappointed. Not good enough, Chanel !!!!! Chance Eau Fraiche the most. Was at the Chanel store an hour ago to sniff the latest flanker. Recently, however, I started testing eau Vive. The top notes are quite generic and disappointing, so I can understand the frustration, but you have to wait and let it bloom on your skin - it's really magical. It is surprsingly long lasting. just because its chanel? How can a perfume this nice be this underrated?? It is very good for summer. As time goes by it becomes pretty and floral, like a smell of delicate spring flowers, which is possibly the iris or jasmine. Later on a girl in the mall gave me a sample and I found out that it was in fact a beautiful scent. A good compliment getter that really shines in the winter. Both women and men love this. I am in love with it now after a week! Eau Vive does not smell special in any way. Eau Vive it combines the advantages of Eau Tendre and Eau Fraiche.
I'm used to him smelling my neck/wrist and saying "mmmm it's nice - don't you have something else that smells like this though?". Again my favourite perfumer behind this fragrance, so I knew I could not go too wrong with a blind buy. Every once in a while, the citruses would shine through, but it seemed like the various notes weren't quite meant for one another. Base notes of the composition mix vetiver, cedar and iris, leaving a fresh, gentle, elegant and subtle trail. In theory, I like Eau Fraiche but find it too "astringent" for me. Don't waste your money ladies! Now that the weather is warm, I began wearing it everyday after my morning shower and find it perfect for me. This fragrance is a strong citrus. I felt some of the blood orange peeking in. Chance is still one of my top 5 favorite scents and it's still the one that gets the most compliments everywhere. Its flankers all radiate a jasmine that I don't project when wearing the original. It was love at first sight for me.. Smelled it at the chanel counter and it won me over. It was slightly repulsive. I can't really grasp what happened over the years except that my nove changed and now I smell them all differently, which is a real possibility. Olivier has stepped into his father's very large shoes and created this fresh & zesty scent. Seems like there's less floral notes in this one, is that why everyone who love Chanel hates this one? It smells like very sweet Orange juice with sugar. It's excellent. Youthful, uplifting, fresh. I want to love this. I tried it for the second time now on skin and like it better than before. My friend on the other hand smells absolutely divine with clean perfumes. Its a shame to me the opening is what makes this unique but it goes to a skin scent and doesnt last at all . Fragrance repeats the same flacon form as previous editions of the collection and will be available as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. lol. Eau vive is breathtaking. On me, it smells like a soft spicy citrus..hope they come out with other products in it for layering. Please read the Terms of Service and Privacy policy. It is very innocent and unexciting (to me). I would have loved this if mine was also a bit sweet. I can smell a LOT of grapefruit and some lovely flowers. The overall effect is of a musky soap bar with bitter citrus notes hovering over it. Wow, Chanelthey put Eau Vive in the Chance line, what, I think it's the fifth one or so, they gave it a pale pink color, and made it out to be an easy, bright citrus perfumeso of course I ignored it until very recently.
This fragrance is a joke to me. I was not a fan of Coco Mademoiselle yet back then but I liked patchouli florals a lot. 2 years later, I'm finally halfway through my 100ml bottle and my hearts breaking a little. And no. Still, what happens after the big citrusy burst, is quite interesting. I'm not sure why this fragrance is getting so many dislikes because I absolutely love it! I ordered a 100ml bottle blind, online from Chanel a few weeks ago, based upon the notes and my love for the whole Chance line. I love the phases it goes trough, from juicy fruitiness, then the florals came out to play, and the soft woody veil it leaves. I love Eau Vive, and it reminds me a lot of (Clinique Happy 2003) which I use to wear in 2005, so when I tried this Chance Eau Vive I remembered the scent of (clinique happy) immediately. As a girl who loves Chanel fragrances--for years--I was a little skeptical about Chance Eau Vive. It's a jasmine dominated scent with loads of sweet citrus. I don't know why this doesn't get more love out of the line (especially over eau frache). It lasts well, not a ' resprayer' to me and also the citrus I find to be quite dense, imagine overripe oranges and lemons just on the verge of turning/ almost on the border of decay and ' meaty', that for me is CEV. I love this beauty!Yes,Its typical Chanel fragrance, because it gives a nice soapy feeling,a fresh but elegant, playful but mature.I have to say that for me is like a very watered down, very very light coco mademosielle, like said some people before.Very lovely citrus opening gives me a happy feeling, that I have energy for everything, than the soapy musky jasmine in the dry down shows how elegant how feminine is this perfume. This could be literally any youth perfume. It appears they smooth it out in this new one. chance toilette makeupalley cn hng I'm not a huge fan of Chance, but I don't dislike it - I find it appealing, yet for me, somewhat too similar with Coco Mad to justify also owning. Out of all the Chanel Chance flankers hubby loves this one the most with second being Eau Fraiche. and that one is another crowd/compliment getter! Because it literally smells like nothing. so maybe it's a good option for a work wear scent? Eau Vive is simple and straightforward to me - grapefruit, citrus, slight powdery violets notes (but not dusty), and dries down to sort of a watery floral scent on my skin. Time for a boycott methinks. And for a citrus fragrance, it has amazing longevity.
Like many others said this was a pleasant surprise. I love a fruity floral like this. Definitely still suitable for a young lady in her 20s (or even younger), but it doesn't just feel like youth and life and brightness as "eau vive" might imply. No depth, smells generic, the only good thing is that it lasts for quite a long time, around 7-7.5 hours on my skin. I gave it to them. It's never artificial or cloying on my skin, as it wraps me in this silky bright scent. | Deutsch | Espaol | Franais | etina | Italiano | | Polski | Portugus | | | Nederlands | Srpski | Romn | | | | |, Copyrights 2006-2022 Fragrantica.com perfumes magazine - All Rights Reserved - do not copy anything without prior written permission. Can't really comment more than this Chanel, what the hell are you doing? :) Bravo, Chanel. It love how it dries down, very soft sweet citrus and floral. Fresh, simple and nice, but way overpriced. Very easy to wear. Fresh, flirty and fun. This is an easy reach, but I dont see myself paying so much for it. I like to overspray this so that the dry down can shine later in the day. Of the entire chance line, I love this the best. I have bought so many different ones or tried them and they have all failed me. I agree with most reviewers on here that it's a sweet burst of energy with citrus top notes and very pleasant and fresh/ sweet cologne style , I like this on a hot day , I find it refreshing , sort of reminds me of an alcoholic drink , but unsure which one or if any in particular,.
I find the more time I have had with it the more I understand it and love it more. As Chanel Chance Eau Tendre smells something like the Original Daisy by Marc Jacobs this one also smells something like one of its flankers. There's just too much musk or something in it, and not enough of everything else. I decided to try this in the cold as eau fraiche changes in the seasons with my body chemistry and this smells even better in the cold..it's gotten sweeter, the citrus is more present and the iris, jasmine, cedar and musk amp upthis is so good..I think I prefer to wear Eau Vive during the winter more than the summer and Eau Fraiche during the summer as that smells better on me during that season versus the winter. To me, it is just Chance EDP with strong jasmine notes. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Polge. The perfect smell for the classy feminine women. This perfume is not a showgirl in the window baring it all.It is sophisticated, elegant and sheer quality. Definitely prefer Eua Tendre and Eau Fraiche! Yeah, this is hairspray to me. It smells like some sulfuric pineapple and Dihydromyrcenol nuance(herbal and limey, like a skin toner for men) and a bit of powdery and musky with animal, fatty smell(maybe is this Blood orange?). It's a very nostalgic fragrance for me and transports me to Paris where I smelled it for the first time upon release in 2002.
Also noticeable is the jasmine and sexy iris to lock in that date-night feel during warm summer evenings. It such a fun scent to wear that has a good projection and lasted all day before I might, add a extra spray. Like some grocery store brand I used as a teenager. And it lasts a good 6-8 hours. I'ts a bit aquatic somehow. Chance Eau vive is PERFECT for hot tropical weather but what I've noticed is that even when worn in colder weather, it brings about a dark baroque very Chanel-esque vibe and it's breathtaking! At first I thought this had magnolia in it because it becomes very creamy along with the citrus freshness, but it appears there is jasmine in this and the vetiver mixed with the grapefruit, blood orange and jasmine makes this such a smoother release than Eau Fraiche. Umema: The Perfume That'll Never Be Smelled. Good for women of all ages. You just have to give it the right chance. Most citrus fragrances don't have great lasting power that this lasts all day on me without having to be resprayed. My exchange student came to visit and brought a bottle of this with her. It's non-offensive and office friendly. This time a get a very fresh and strong grapefruit with a bit of soapiness, but now it goes well together. It really has the distinctive Chanel DNA, and, like Chance Eau Fraiche, it's reminiscent of its predecessor. Performance is almost overwhelming, Chanel did not disappoint me at that. Smelled it on a friend. I tried it on today and let it wear on my skin and I seemed to be right on the verge of a headache. Perhaps one day I will find a Chanel that works well on my skin, but alas it is not this day. There is this juicy, bright burst of grapefruit. Very happy to have it in my collection! I'm almost tempted to try other fragrances during this time to see how much better they smell as I know that Midnight Poison smells amazing during this time of the year especially during the winter. Chance Eau Vive managed to sneak into the Chance range without much of a fuss. Smells so masculine on my skin. Chanel Chance (2003). This is my MOST FAVOURITE and MOST COMPLIMENTED fragrance ever!! I got a first sniff of this perfume this summer, from a magazine sample and it's been staying on my mind and my wish list ever since. It's very feminine, non-offensive and pleasant. Allure is my signature so I was excited to try this one. Anyone? The collection is refreshed with new flacon form at the beginning of this year, so the fragrances can also be purchased as 35 ml now. This is sharp in that it's a fresh floral, but I don't get even the slightest twinge of a headache. Just got a sample of this in a magazine. I had CHANCE original for years before in my 30's, it was a fresh crispy fragrance that gets quite heavy but I loved it, I felt classy wearing it. The drydown is nice but nothing you haven't seen before. I tried Eau Vive yesterday and while I didn't have any expectations I must say that I expected more from Chanel in general. (Pretty much the same review from my old username, just updated). Only the drydown is very reminiscent of the original chance edt/edp. Eau Vive Chance is my favorite out of all Chance. The original Chance has that masculine touch but in a classy and soft/aquatic way, l prefer the old one. I smelled it next day and liked the soft scent so I gave it a second try. My sisters came to visit me and on both of them that bottle that was so boring on me developed into an absolutely beautifully scent on them. The warm weather really brought out the beauty in this juice! Not in my opinion. I guess I'm lucky I took a chance on you Eau Vive. and changes as you are wearing it. All in all it's Elegant to wear in the Spring/Summer like for a Wedding. It's tad costly but it just means not any woman will wear it but a true connieuseurs.
