Great book, prepare to become consumed in this new world created by the author. She looks West African, but is so sensitive to the sun (due to her albinism) that she cant play soccer during the day. Akata Witch was recommended to me as a young adult book, but seems more suited for middle grade readers. The characters are so well written and I cared about all of them in different ways.
That being said, this book has a lot of merit in terms of its concept.
